Skills and Experience

Networking

  • CCNA - A card carrying Cisco Certified Network Associate. I dabble in BGP when the fancy strikes me.
  • Foundry Networks - Routers
  • Cisco - Routers and layer 2/3 switches

Operating Systems

  • Linux - Aside from being very knowledgeable about it, I do some kernel development.
  • Microsoft Windows - I'm familiar, some might say fluent, in everything from 3.1 to 2003. I loathe Vista.

Programming

  • Perl - I write everything from one-liners to random CGIs to ungodly large applications and systems of applications.
  • PHP - I do not use PHP for anything but websites. Coding, debugging, checking for vulnerabilities... It's all the same.
  • C/C++ - I'm competent when it comes to both single and multi-threaded applications. Sockets are fun, and so are databases.
  • Shell Scripting - I'm more than familiar with the BASH and BusyBox shells and scripting within them.

Databases

  • MySQL - As far as databases go, I love this one.

"Web" Technologies

  • XHTML 1.1 - I prefer this flavor as it is the least supported by Internet Explorer-- I mean, it's the future of internet markup languages... That is, until XHTML2 is completed.
  • CSS 2.1 - Nothing gives a website more style than, well, a stylesheet. I've learned a fair bit about how Internet Explorer mis-interprets things, and what it fails miserably at, so I don't really have to use a separate stylesheet for it anymore.

Other

  • Photography - I love taking photos, and I've gotten to be pretty good at it, in my own not-so-humble opinion.
  • Image Minipulation - From simple retouching to more detailed edits, I'm getting to be rather competent.
  • Electrical Contracting - Growing up with a father who's an electrician leaves you with a fair bit of knowledge. In my case it's enough to do code-worthy work.
  • There are many other skills, but it's late and I'm tired.
